Hebrew Word Pictures
The
insightful teaching book and CD by Dr. Frank Seekins
Deepen
your understanding of God's holy Word with these fascinating resources!
Hebrew
used to be an ideogramic language (pictures made up the words). Biblical Hebrew
is still full of many powerful word pictures that clearly illustrate the truths
of the Bible.
For
example, in Hebrew the word for Father is Abba. This is a combination of
the first and second letters of the Hebrew alphabet, Alef and Bet.
The word picture for Alef means Ox, Strength, or First. The word picture for
Bet means House, Home, or Family (as in Bethlehem, which means "the House
of Bread."). So, Abba - Father - is "the
Strength of the Home or Family."
The
Hebrew word for Religion is Dat, a combination of Dalet (the Door)
and Tav (the Sign, the Cross). The word picture for the Hebrew word for
religion then is "the Door of the Cross." Jesus said, "I am
the door..." (John 10:9).
Can

Combine this with your PraiseMoves Alphabetics workout to Psalm 119 or Proverbs

worship!"
Remember,
you don't have to understand Hebrew to appreciate and enjoy Hebrew Word
