A
Mighty Warrior:
The Hebrew-Biblical View of a Woman
Book
by Dr. Frank Seekins
Proverbs
31 calls her a "virtuous woman" and that was a perfect translation in
1611. However, the English language has changed since then. "Virtuous"
in 1611 meant powerful. The Hebrew word was "chayil" which
means "capable, strong, valiant; a mighty warrior." This booklet helps
you understand what the Bible says about women in light of the original Hebrew
text (and shows us how men
and women are perfect for each other!).
Remember
the passage of scripture about the woman who was healed when she touched Jesus'
clothes? "And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that virtue had
gone out of Him, turned Him about in the press, and said, 'Who touched My
clothes?'" (Mark 5:30 KJV). Other translations use the word
"power" or "healing power."
This
wonderful booklet by Dr. Seekins can
add greater depth to your practice of PraiseMoves Alphabetics to Proverbs 31,
and appreciation for the special person the Lord has created you (or your loved
one) to be!
